Pac-Man is the original icon of the video game industry. It’s been 34 years since the ghost-gobbling glutton first appeared in arcades, and in the years since we’ve met his wife and his children. We’ve seen him become a superhero and a professor. We’ve even traveled with him across islands and kingdoms.
Now we get to meet his friends.
In Pac-Man Friends for iOS and Android, you’ll once again be able to control the video game icon and his many friends as you navigate challenging mazes to rescue Pac-Man’s pals from the clutches of Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde. We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Bandai Namco to support the official Pac-Man Friends wiki! Bandai Namco has turned the tried-and-true Pac-Man formula on its ear, and you can learn much more if you just keep on reading down below the break.
In Pac-Man Friends, you will explore six distinct worlds that feature 95 unique and challenging levels. Different levels will require you to call on some of Pac-Man’s friends, each of whom have different abilities that can help you better navigate the mazes. For example, some of Pac-Man’s friends can slip through tiny spaces that he otherwise couldn’t. On the flipside, his bigger buddies can smash through walls and bounce ghosts with a firm bop. Others can turn invisible, or shoot powerful lasers! Knowing which Pac-Man to use in each situation is key to freeing your friends and defeating the ghosts once and for all!

Pac-Man Friends doesn’t rely exclusively on the touch screen. Instead the game uses your phone or tablet’s accelerometer to give you control over your characters with a simple tilt of the phone. If this isn’t your style – and it can understandably be a bit confusing or jarring for some – you can go into the game’s options and change to one of five different control schemes. This way you can experiment with finding the best way for you to play.
Pac-Man Friends is currently available on both iOS and Android. It’s available on iTunes for $4.99 – but Android owners can download the game from the Google Play store for free! Of course both games offer in-game purchases, like extra power pellets and fruit, which you can use to gain bonuses in the game, but those are completely optional.
