Greetings, ladies and gentlemen! It’s that time once again to highlight some of the updates that you can find on the Gamepedia YouTube. This has been a busy week for us on YouTube, as we published new trailers for KYN and Outcast Odyssey, highlighted the different card backs that have been unlockable in Healthstone, and we talk about the next-generation of MOBA, Strife.

We talk about Strife a lot this week. If you’ve been following the game at all, you’ll be very happy to see the updates that we’ve published over this past week. We took a look at some of the core systems in the game, as well as published Hero profiles for many of the characters in the game. But Strife isn’t all that we focused on this week; we published new previews from Heroes of the Storm, new content in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and peeked under the curtain at ArcheAge.

So, let’s not waste any more time and jump right in, shall we?

Strife

One of the most daunting challenges whenever you’re starting a new MOBA is determining which Hero or Champion you want to play. With Strife offering an impressive roster of Heroes right out of the gate, we wanted to do our part to make it easier on you to decide. Luckily our friends at S2 Games had the same idea, and came up with their “How to” series. These videos give you brief rundowns of the different Heroes in the game, letting you see how they play and what they bring to the fight.

The above video highlights “Ace,” but there are many more – which we’ve listed below.

In addition to these brief character videos, we took some time to look at Strife‘s crafting and enchanting systems – two vital components of the game that you will need to master in order to rise above the competition.

Finally, everybody loves pets. You love pets, I love pets, people who say they don’t love pets secretly covet their pets. Pets are awesome, and they’re in Strife. We put together a brief video to highlight the different pets in the game and why they’re awesome.

Heroes of the Storm

Jumping from one MOBA to another, we released two new videos covering two more Heroes in Heroes of the Storm. The first of our two videos shines a spotlight on Nazeebo, a Witch Doctor from the Diablo universe who fills the role of “specialist.” Nazeebo is able to poison enemies, summon plagues of toads to fight for him, and can even summon Gargantuans to power through enemy defenses.

On the flipside, there is Falstad Wildhammer – an assassin based in the Warcraft universe. Riding his trusty gryphon steed, many of Falstad’s abilities focus on increasing his attack speed and slowing his enemies. It may not sound like much, but in a team encounter those skills are lifesavers.

As the weeks go by, we’ll be publishing more of these videos highlighting the many different Heroes in the game.

ArcheAge

With ArcheAge starting to grab people’s attention, there is no better time to highlight one of the game’s strong points: its character creation. In one of our longer videos, we go in-depth to showcase just how much control you have over the look of your character, editing down to the most minor minutia to make sure that your in-game representation is exactly as you wish it.

We also highlighted some additional character customization options in a shorter video.

We also take some time to look at one of the different “skillsets” in ArcheAge, which determine the class that you become – after selecting three sets of skills in your initial ten levels, the game determines your character class and you are then able to improve those skills and abilities as you progress. This week we looked at the “Auramancy” skillset, a magic-based selection of abilities that are designed to support you and your allies in combat.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

BioWare and Electronic Arts have just released the latest expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic: Galactic Strongholds. This is the expansion that gives you the option of buying your own “stronghold,” which is their way of saying “house.” In our look at the strongholds in the game, we took a tour of the Nar Shaddaa Stronghold.

The new strongholds (which is fancy speak for “player housing”) offer a new level of customization to your STWOR experience, and in the coming weeks we’ll be giving you tours of the other available strongholds as time marches on.

Divinity: Original Sin

Finally this week we delve in to one of the most talked about RPGs currently out on PC: Divinity: Original Sin. In our “At a Glance” sneak peek at the game, you’ll be able to see some of the early game content that highlight the top-down isometric camera and turn-based combat that makes Divinity feel like an old school RPG.

Well, that’s it for this week’s YouTube Roundup! We’ll be back next Friday, and typically every Friday afterwards, to highlight the very best of our YouTube content. As always, if there is something that you’d like to see us cover in a future video, speak up in the comments below.

Thanks again, and see you next time!
