Now, in 2014, Little Green Men Games has returned with Starpoint Gemini 2, which promises to expand on everything fans loved about the first game. Now you can play it for yourself, as the game is up on Steam!
Starpoint Gemini 2 puts you in command of your own starship as you try to keep the peace in the wartorn Gemini sector of space. After a long and bloody conflict which has seen your side crushed, the freedom force that once protected Gemini are now scattered into small resistance cells without any organized leadership. But something is amiss – instead of spreading across known space, the Empire has fortified their position around a Starport. Rumors speak of a threat, greater than anything the Empire has ever seen, is coming…
At its core, Starpoint Gemini 2 is a tactical space simulation which also includes a robust RPG-style leveling system that is both complex, yet easy to understand. As you progress through the game, the decisions you make and the alliances you forge will alter the way the game presents its missions to you. With there being five different factions, each with their own backgrounds and motives, the possible variety in your mission generation is nearly endless.
You’ll have at least 70 ships to use as you explore the Gemini sector and complete these missions. Each and every ship in the game has upgradeable systems, so your old jalopy will still be able to hold its own against the vastly superior ships of the Imperial Navy – you know, as long as you keep the systems up to snuff.
