Path to the Sky

Path to the Sky is a roguelike platformer with retro pixel art, melodic chiptunes, and a procedurally-generated world to explore. Developed by DEKDEV, the game puts you in the shoes of a shipwrecked crewman, abandoned on a strange island during the 17th century. Your only hope of rescue is to reach the topmost peak of the island – but getting there is no easy feat. Path to the Sky is planned to enter Early Access within the next few months. When you signed up to travel the Indian Ocean aboard a spice trading vessel, you never imagined becoming abandoned on a remote island. But when buccaneers plunder your loot, sink your ship, and kill the rest of your crewmates, you find yourself isolated with no means of escaping. Your only hope is to travel to the highest point on the island in search of rescue, but hostile wildlife and dangerous terrain make this no easy feat. What’s worse – the higher you climb, the more challenges you’ll face. In Path to the Sky, Johannes Märtterer has created a world of adventure that contains surprises around every turn. Game features include:

  • Procedural Generation – An infinite world provides gamers with a high replay value
  • Day/Night Cycles – Constantly shifting day/night cycles and randomized weather effects
  • Retro Design – Retro pixel art with modern shading techniques, plus nostalgic chiptunes by Yoann Turpin
  • Permadeath – One chance to make it to the top of the island, so make it count
