Activision isn’t having a great time lately, as the Call of Duty: WWII release date has now been leaked in some promotional material ahead of the official reveal later this week.
That’s just what happened with Destiny 2 before it was revealed too, so it seems like retailers have really got it in for Activision this year.
The leaked promotional material popped up on the Call of Duty subreddit over the weekend and revealed that WWII is coming on November 3, 2017. That’s a Friday and Call of Duty games are usually released around this time, so it’s looking likely that November 3 is the actual launch day.
Apparently, there will be a private beta for the game beforehand for those who pre-order the game.
Another interesting detail that’s described in the material is that the game will include a co-op mode that “unleashes a new and original story” that’s a “standalone game experience”. That suggests there’s going to be a single-player campaign and then another co-op story mode too.
Activision revealed the official title for the next entry in the Call of Duty series last week, confirming rumours that it would be called Call of Duty: WWII. Sledgehammer Games, which is the developer behind Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, is responsible for creating this year’s entry.
The worldwide reveal livestream is happening on April 26 at 6pm BST/10am PT and you can tune in via the Call of Duty website. We’re intrigued to see whether the game will launch on Nintendo Switch, as there hasn’t been a Nintendo entry in the series since Call of Duty: Ghosts.
