A Complete List of Every Show on the Bubble

‘Tis the season for TV fans to anxiously wait to learn the fate of their favorite shows, as series are pulled from networks in order to make room for new pilots.

And while we’ve been compiling a list of every TV show that’s been renewed and each title that’s been canceled, there are even more shows on the bubble. These are the series that could currently go either way, although some are certainly struggling more to find an audience than others.

This list will get smaller as we learn each show’s fate, but here is the current list of shows still waiting to find out if they get another season. (Shows with asterisks haven’t aired a new season yet, so executives are waiting to see how they do before making a decision about what to do with them.)

ABC’s reboot of American Idol was successful enough that it will likely get picked up again. Both black-ish and How to Get Away with Murder are very likely to get another season, too. But when it comes to Marvel’s series, the fate of both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Inhumans isn’t looking good.

While the quality of Empire has arguably gone down since it first debuted its amazing premiere season in 2015, it stands a good chance of getting a fifth season. Shows like Gotham and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which each have a strong cult following, are not as likely to get the green light.

Timeless had a crazy experience this time last year when executives canceled the time-traveling drama and then changed their minds and decided to bring it back just three days later. This time around, however, it doesn’t look good for the series and if it’s canceled again, it surely won’t be lucky enough to return twice.
