Well, Game of Thrones Season 7 just premiered and as expected, it was full of surprises and shocking moments (How hardcore is Arya? The Hound throws shade at man-buns! LYANNA MF’ING MORMONT!). But there’s one moment you may have missed since it happened so quickly.
As Samwell Tarly walked down the halls of the Citadel, gathering discarded bowls of food, he was suddenly accosted by a grotesquely scaly arm. Who’s arm is that you may ask? None other than everyone’s favorite “friend-zoned” knight, Ser Jorah Mormont.
When last we saw Ser Jorah, Daenerys had welcomed him back into her good graces (he did sell her out to Robert Baratheon, after all) only to banish him once again, commanding him to find a cure for the greyscale he’d acquired.
Well, it looks like that search hasn’t been going too well. His affliction, previously just a small patch on his wrist, now seems to have spread to entire arm, if not further. Things are definitely not looking good for poor Ser Jorah.
Of course, Jorah’s first question to Sam isn’t about a cure for his disease. Of course, it’s about his beloved Dany. Sam has, of course, heard nothing. He’s been too busy emptying chamber pots (in what has to be one of the funniest and most disgusting montage in Game of Thrones ever), tending to Gilly and Sam Jr., all while scheming to get into the restricted area of the Citadel’s library in the hopes of finding more information on the White Walkers.
So what does the future hold for Ser Jorah? How far has the disease spread? Will he find a cure to his greyscale? Will he reunite with his beloved Mother of Dragons? The only way to know for sure is to tune in for the rest of Game of Thrones Season 7. But you were going to do that anyway, weren’t you?
