Nintendo has officially announced the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Mini, aka the SNES Mini or officially the Nintendo Classic Mini: SNES and it’s coming this year. As before, it’s the same console you know and love but in a smaller, cuter form.
The SNES Mini release date has been set for September 29 in the US and the UK, and it’ll come with 21 games. That’s nine less than the NES Mini came with last year, but it’shard to deny that the quality of games isn’t freakin’ awesome.
Here’s the full list of SNES Mini titles you’ll get to play on this dinky little console later this year:

- Super Mario Kart
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Super Mario World
- Super Metroid
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Yoshi’s Island
“All of these games would be considered classics by anyone’s standards, and some of them in particular – Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy III, EarthBound and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars – are massive role-playing games that can take dozens of hours to complete,” explained Nintendo in a press release. “Even for super fans who have played all of these games multiple times, the inclusion of the never-before-released Star Fox 2 will offer them something entirely new to enjoy (players must prove their skill by completing the first level of the original Star Fox before Star Fox 2 is unlocked to play).”
What has been fixed with this mini console though is that the SNES Mini comes with two wired Super NES Classic Controllers, which is great for instant multiplayer. In the box, you’ll also get one HDMI cable and a USB power cable, which you’ll need to connect the SNES Mini to your TV.
There’s no word on a pre-order date as yet, but it’ll cost you $79.99/£79.99. You can register now ahead of the pre-order on the official Nintendo website.
