SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is promising to bring everyone’s favorite wall-crawler back to his comic book roots. In order to do that, the movie is giving audiences lots of villains they haven’t seen before. We already know that Michael Keaton will be playing the Vulture, but we also know that Michael Chernus will be portraying a lesser known villain known as the Tinkerer. These two alone would be a great gift to fans.

Okay. Set photos have cropped up on Twitter showing the character Bokeem Woodbine – Mike Milligan from Fargo – will be portraying. Take a gander at these snapshots:

Undoubtedly, that is the Shocker, one of Spidey’s most recognizable foes. It’s great to see that the MCU version of Spidey’s world is approaching its characters with such visual fealty. That costume looks like the character jumped right off the page.
The Shocker (real name Herman Schultz) has often been a minor nuisance for Spidey. The gauntlets worn by the Shocker are the source of his powers. They emit a powerful shockwave that can be concentrated towards the user’s intended target. That yellow quilt of a suit he wears is to absorb the feedback from the gauntlets. The Shocker was created by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. in 1967.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is shaping up to be a real blast for fans of the character. After the dismal one-two punch of The Amazing Spider-Man and its bizarre sequel, it looks like the franchise is getting back on track. We’ll find out when Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7.
Hopefully, everyone will be able to keep their juvenile jokes in check when it comes to the Shocker. That’s doubtful.
