Will Spider-Man be in Avengers: Infinity War? It’s the burning question on the minds of Spider-fans anticipating Marvel’s upcoming epic team-up movie, currently planned for a May 4, 2018 big-screen release. And we may have just gotten a definitive “yes” from Holland himself.

In a recent interview with Italian Vogue, Holland seems to confirm that his existing contract with Marvel Studios is for three films over the next four years, including Avengers: Infinity War. That’s likely as close to an official confirmation as we’ll get until Marvel announces the full roster.

The Russo brothers — the guys who made the Captain America movies and are directing Infinity War — have gone on record saying fans can expect 67 Marvel characters to appear in the movie. Yes, you read that right — 67 characters. The Avengers will need a lot of help in what’s expected to be their climactic battle with Thanos. But we haven’t gotten a comprehensive list of heroes, of course, so speculation has run rampant among Marvel Cinematic Universe devotees.

Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, and whetted fans’ appetites for more in the trailer for July’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, the MCU’s restart of the Spider-Man franchise.

Holland is due to appear in an as-yet-untitled Spider-Man sequel, slated for release in 2019. Then there’s the aforementioned appearance as the wisecracking web-slinger in Infinity War, which is currently filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.

The British-born Holland first came to the attention of audiences as the son in tsunami drama The Impossible and later in BBC TV series Wolf Hall. Apart from his Marvel exploits, Holland will also be seen in Doug Liman’s dystopian sci-fi film, Chaos Walking, based on the novel by Patrick Ness, adapted by Charlie Kaufman. He’ll star alongside The Force Awakens‘ Daisy Ridley.

As for Avengers: Infinity War, it’s a no-brainer that Spider-Man would appear, but there’s always behind-the-scenes business to be done that keeps these things up in the air. For now, consider it confirmed.
