Tommy Wiseau is a pop culture figure unlike any other. When he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in his debut feature film The Room, it was the culmination of all his dreams about obtaining stardom and celebrity. And when The Room became a cult success, it launched Tommy into the cinema counterculture.
Eventually, Tommy’s co-star and friend, Greg Sestero, wrote a book that detailed the unbelievable story of Tommy and his quest in making The Room. That book would become the basis of the film The Disaster Artist (read FANDOM’s review). In the movie, James Franco plays Tommy and showcases just how bizarre the entire production was.
With The Disaster Artist picking up multiple awards and nominations, Tommy has been thrust into the spotlight like never before. He is even starring in a new film, Best F(r)iends, that’s coming out soon. FANDOM got a chance to sit down with this man of many talents and he gave us a peek into his world.
