Tyler Hoechlin fans have a new reason to watch Supergirl when Season 2 debuts in October. New set pictures of the former Teen Wolf in his Superman suit show off a heretofore unknown superpower of the iconic character – that super-booty!

The shots are already drawing comparisons to internet booty queen Kim Kardashian.

Hoechlin started filming in Vancouver this week. He appears as the Man of Steel in the first two episodes of Supergirl Season 2. Hoechlin, the sixth actor portraying Kal-El of Krypton on television, is not the first to draw so much attention to what’s under that red cape. Social media barely existed when Dean Cain (Lois & Clark) wore the suit and Tom Welling (Smallville) never really got into the traditional blue and red so we don’t know what initial reactions to their spandex-covered bottoms were like. Similar gasps of appreciation and applause greeted both recent big-screen supermen Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill as audiences first spied their superior posteriors but Hoechlin’s turn in the suit is already eclipsing them.

These first shots from the Supergirl set show Hoechlin’s new Superman squarely in the middle of the action. He’s there saving National City civilians from an unseen menace and getting set to take flight.

With Supergirl changing networks, from CBS to CW, fans expect a slightly more serious tone similar to the network’s other DC properties, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. The addition of Hoechlin also brings conflict. His Superman doesn’t agree with his cousin’s approach to heroics. Producers say they’ll clash over that.

The second season of Supergirl debuts Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. Get caught up on the first season now over at supergirl.wikia.com.
