It’s been a while since a truly expansive extreme sports game has hit the scene — but that all changes with the arrival of Steep. The game allows players to test their mettle against some of the most fearsome mountains on the planet, whatever their chosen method of traversing these dangerous conditions happens to be.
Steep lets players strap on a pair of skis, zip themselves into a wingsuit, hop on a snowboard, or take to the skies in a paraglider. Variety is the order of the day, and there’s no limits on how you mix and match between different activities during your time on the slopes.
An international array of developers working at Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Montpelier, and Ubisoft Kiev have created immersive recreations of the Alps and Alaska. Both locations have been beautifully realized as an open world for players to explore, with hidden spots tucked away for the most dedicated to discover.
Of course, there’s more to Steep than exploring breathtaking environments on your own. Seamless multiplayer makes it easy to join your friends, and even meet new companions — or perhaps rivals — as you’re cutting through powder or soaring through the air.
Steep is a game that allows players to live their wildest extreme sports fantasies. With no threat of bruised ligaments and broken bones, there are zero limits to what you can accomplish on the piste.
