The Tomb of Sargeras, an upcoming World of Warcraft raid, is almost here, and it’s time to end the Legion’s invasion once and for all. But you can’t stomp faces if you don’t know anything about the faces you’re going to stomp. So, in addition to this handy guide, here’s a complete boss list, giving you a bit of backstory so you can make informed face stomping decisions.
Goroth
Not much is known about Goroth except he upset some people who had the power to make him suffer for it. His tormentors turned him into a hulking, flame sputtering behemoth, sentencing him to an eternity of torment for his failures.
Demonic Inquisition
No one expects the Demonic Inquisition, Atrigan and Belac, to stop intruders from delving any deeper into the Tomb of Sargeras. However, they have ways of making you talk, inflicting Torment upon their foes and forcing them to Confess their crimes against the Legion.
Harjatan the Bludger
This naga brute seeks to return the Tidestone of Golganneth to Queen Azshara, an old ally of the Legion. Harjatan’s savagery has earned him a following of murlocs who worship him as a god, and they’ll do whatever it takes to keep their master pleased.
Mistress Sassz’ine
If Harjatan fails, the naga witch Mistress Sassz’ine is there to retrieve the Tidestone in his stead. She has the power to command Ten Thousand Fangs, the Terrors of the Deep, and Vast Oceans of Wrath. She’ll call upon them all to defeat her enemies.
The Sisters of the Moon
Huntress Kasparian, Captain Yathae Moonstrike, and Priestess Lunaspyre were once the protectors of the Temple of Elune, and they continued in their duty long after death. However, the malevolence of the Avatar of Sargeras corrupted the Sisters of the Moon, driving them mad and turning them away from their original purpose. Now they cannot distinguish friend from foe and will protect their sacred chamber from all intruders.
The Desolate Host
The Desolate Host is a monstrous creature created when the Engine of Souls harvested night elf spirits from what was once holy temple grounds. A Legion construct, the Engine of Souls harnesses the energy of the dead and corrupts them into abominations eager to feast on living flesh. The Engine is maintained by the twisted soul of High Priestess Dejahna, a former High Priestess of Elune and predecessor of the current priestess, Tyrande Whisperwind.
Maiden of Vigilance
Like the Sisters of the Moon, the Maiden of Vigilance was once tasked with the protection of the Tomb of Sargeras, charged by Guardian Aegwynn herself. And much like the Sisters of the Moon, the evil energy of her prisoner, the Avatar of Sargeras, corrupted her purpose, turning her against all who cross her.
Fallen Avatar
The Avatar of Sargeras contains only a fragment of the Dark Titan’s soul, yet the avatar’s power was so great even death could not destroy it. After its defeat, Aegywnn, Guardian of Tirisfal locked it away where it lay for centuries waiting for the opportunity to rise, conquer, and bring forth Sargeras’s full power to Azeroth at last.
Kil’jaeden the Deceiver
Kil’jaeden is the supreme commander of the Burning Legion, responsible for the destruction of countless worlds including his own. After Gul’dan’s failure, the demon lord has come to the Tomb of Sargeras in hopes of awakening the Fallen Avatar and unleashing his master’s power upon the forces of Azeroth.
