Space, survival, and sandbox style gameplay are the key components of Asteroids: Outpost, an upcoming PC title just announced by Atari. Developed by Salty Games, Asteroids: Outpost allows you to experience a re-imagined version of the classic 1979 shooter as a deep space miner. You’ll mine ore, craft equipment, and defend your base in order to survive and grow your fortune. Gamepedia is proud to present the Asteroids: Outpost Wiki, your premiere resource for game-related information.
Prepare to experience the future of our solar system. Earth’s mines are depleted, and mankind must now venture into space for raw materials. “The Belt” – a massive asteroid belt full of rare ore – is now the primary focus of industrialists. Brave and idealistic miners head into The Belt with nothing more than basic tools and dreams of fortune. It’s a high-risk scenario, but, for adventurous miners, the potential rewards are worth the danger.
In Asteroids: Outpost, you’re isolated on a giant asteroid, and you’ll have to gather resources, construct a base, and defend against the dangers of deep space if you want to survive. Similar to the original Asteroids, you’ll blast away at asteroid showers to collect their components and defend your territory. Unfortunately, these projectiles aren’t your only threat. You’ll also encounter other players in the game, and you’ll have to decide if they’re trusted allies or treacherous foes. Additional game features include highly customized bases, crafting and weapon optimization, and an expansive open world full of abandoned mines.
