Avengers: Endgame is inching closer, but are you ready for the surviving heroes to take the fight to Thanos? It’s easily the biggest comic book event movie of the year, as it’ll tie up a story that’s been teased since the post-credits scene of The Avengers back in 2012. One thing the Marvel Cinematic Universe does spectacularly is delivering gripping action sequences that let our favorite heroes show just how incredible they really are. So, let’s take a look at the movie’s major action and the LEGO® Marvel™ Avengers playsets that they inspired.
Captain America: Outriders Attack
We saw just how awesome Captain America can be when riding a motorbike during his escape from the Triskellion in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. So get ready for more of that!
Note that Cap is sporting an awesome white suit alongside his usual blue cowl. Fans will also remember that he relinquished his iconic shield at the end of Civil War, but it’s attached to the back of the bike here. The Star-Spangled Man with the plan is back! We haven’t seen the last of the Outrider army that attacked Wakanda either. The Avengers facility is under siege and Cap is surely going to defend it at all costs!
BUILD YOUR ENDGAME: Take on three Outriders with Captain America’s bike! Fight back with the Captain America shield shooters. Then jump out of the cockpit, detach the blasters, and battle those enemy Outriders one on one!
Iron Man’s Hall of Armor
Tony Stark blew up his armory of suits at the end of Iron Man 3. But we all know, he just can’t help himself when it comes to tinkering with technology. It’s unsurprising that he’s been trying to fix the world the only way he knows how; by creating awesome suits. The Outriders are clearly out to get him in Endgame. Could that mean he’s been coming up with a suit that’s Thanos-proof?
There are lots of other great suits here, too. The big blue one is Mark 38 A.K.A. Igor, and it was built for heavy lifting. There’s the original suit Tony built to escape the Ten Rings, the Mark 5, which was the Iron Man 2 briefcase suit, the Mark 42 which had a brief appearance in Iron Man 3 and then Infinity War’s Mark 50. But there a few extra spaces in his armory – and there’s a possibility that Endgame will show off even more incredible Iron Man armor.
BUILD YOUR ENDGAME: Join Tony Stark in the Iron Man Hall of Armor and experiment with new tech! Make a smoothie in the kitchen. Work at the desk and get suited up using the robotic arms. Lift heavy objects in the Iron Man lab wearing the massive Igor Suit. And if your experiments go wrong, get the robot to put out fires with the fire extinguisher. But watch out—an Outrider is trying to break in so grab a weapon and capture this dangerous invader! You can rebuild this awesome Hall of Armor in loads of different ways, so the action never stops.
War Machine Buster
Remember in Avengers: Age of Ultron when “Veronica” A.K.A. the Hulkbuster was deployed to stop a rampaging Hulk in South Africa? Now, it’s only fair that War Machine’s getting his share of mega-suit action. Given that Rhodey’s standard armor has been outfitted with plenty of artillery, we can’t wait to see the next-level strength and weaponry here.
The War Machine Buster has huge rocket launchers and arm cannons — this really does make Rhodey a one-man army.
BUILD YOUR ENDGAME: Emergency! Ant-Man is under attack by the dangerous Outriders. Fly to the rescue with the mighty War Machine Buster! Fire the 6-stud rapid shooter and the flick missiles. Grab an Outrider with the massive mech’s powerful hands. Then detach the stud-shooting cannons and battle the enemy on the ground with War Machine!
Avengers Ultimate Quinjet
The Avengers Ultimate Quinjet gives the team’s transport some serious firepower. And they’ll need all the help they can get if they’re going to take on the Chitauri, the alien invaders encountered in The Avengers.
If the team can stop Thanos around the time of the New York Invasion, they could reset a lot of his wrongdoings in the MCU so far. Do the Chitauri stand a chance against Thor, Rocket, Black Widow and Hawkeye? We’ll find out in Avengers: Endgame, hitting theaters April 26.
