In Back to the FutureDoc Brown memorably builds a time machine out of a DeLorean. It’s a fateful decision that has since been enshrined in the annals of pop culture history, but brought with it some unique challenges for the production crew. For one, the cars don’t actually drive all that fast, even though we all know you have to get up to 88 miles per hour before the flux capacitor will even kick in. In this exclusive clip, writer/producer Bob Gale walks us through some of the difficulties of working on set with a quirky time-traveling sports car.

It’s taken from Universal’s new Back to the Future: The Ultimate Trilogy box set, commemorating the original film’s incredible 35th anniversary. The set boasts all three films, plus over an hour of never-before-seen bonus features. That includes audition footage from celebrities who didn’t actually make it into the films, like Ben Stiller, Kyra Sedgwick, Jon Cryer, Billy Zane, and C. Thomas Howell. It’s available in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD, and will be released on October 20.

Good day, Future Boy!
