Starring Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Mark Rylance, the new movie looks to be action packed and filled with plentiful edge-the-seat moments. The poster chooses to show one man amidst the chaos of the battle and the mood is one of resolve amidst great danger. The story is of the miraculous rescue of the Allied soldiers from Dunkirk amid heavy fire from the opposing side. Around 340,000 men were rescued from the beaches in the month.
The right director for the job
Christopher Nolan is known for his perfectionism in movies and this movie should be exactly the same. Students of World War II should be thrilled to have a modern, dramatized version of Dunkirk as the 1958 film on the subject was created before the joy of IMAX, and HD. The film is being made for IMAX, which will boost the drama, action, and tense moments on a large scale. Christopher Nolan always creates films that are of excellent quality, great action, and depth so it’s exciting to wonder how he’ll approach this sobering but captivating material.
Tom Hardy is a Nolan staple. He stars as Farrier, a soldier on the beaches of Dunkirk. For all the One Direction Fans out there, Harry Styles is in it too. He plays Tommy and had to get a haircut to get the role, thank goodness.
Dunkirk will be released on July 21st, 2017.
