Los Angeles, CA – July 2, 2019 — Fandom, the fan-first global platform company, today announced that it has teamed up with Cirque du Soleil for its 4th annual Fandom Party at San Diego Comic Con.

The annual rooftop bash will take place on Thursday, July 18th at Float at the Hard Rock Hotel, where guests will be treated to an exclusive sneak peek of R.U.N – the first live-action thriller by Cirque du Soleil, followed by a special performance by Girl Talk.

Premiering at Luxor in Las Vegas this October, R.U.N is a groundbreaking new Cirque du Soleil show that provides the audience with an unprecedented sensory experience where state-of-the-art special effects collide with human performance and cutting-edge technology to explore the world of stunts.  The Fandom Party will feature a specially created act inspired by R.U.N conceived by Show Director Michael Schwandt and Creation Director Stefan Miljevic.  It will showcase a live performance by Tyler Bates, R.U.N’s Music Composer, as well as a voice-over narration written by the show’s Writer, acclaimed filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.  The never-before-seen performance will include pyrotechnic elements, an epic rooftop battle, adrenaline-inducing motorcycle tricking, and live-action stunts.

“We are thrilled to work alongside Cirque du Soleil to unveil this unprecedented live entertainment experience,”  said Ken Shapiro, Chief Revenue Officer for Fandom. “At Fandom we’re committed to providing our fans with the ultimate destination to celebrate their pop-culture passion and we cannot wait to bring that experience to life once again at Comic-Con.”

About Girl Talk

Girl Talk (aka Pittsburgh’s Gregg Gillis) has been constructing meticulous sample-based music since 2000.  His early work was known for its raw experimental nature, but by the release of his 2006 album, Night Ripper, that style evolved into genre-smashing, breakneck-paced party jams. Night Ripper consisted of over 300 songs, from wildly disparate Top 40 genres and eras, mashed up and layered together into one cohesive collage.  It received critical acclaim, and the attention resulted in a rapidly growing fanbase. Girl Talk continued to develop his signature style with the release of Feed the Animals in 2008 and All Day in 2010. He steadily toured over the following years, bringing his renowned confetti-covered and sweat-soaked performances to venues ranging from house party basements to major festivals.   By 2014, Gillis began focusing on collaborative work, mainly doing the production and beats with rappers. That year, he released “Broken Ankles,” an EP with Freeway. This has been followed up by one-off songs with Wiz Khalifa, Erick The Architect (from Flatbush Zombies), Smoke DZA, and Don Q.
