Lord Ned Umber, aged 11, has died. The son of the late Lord Jon “Smalljon” Umber was found murdered in the ruins of his keep by northern patrols sent out from both Castle Black and the remnants of Eastwatch. Lord Umber was discovered in his keep, mutilated in a warning from the mysterious Night King and his White Walkers. In a situation becoming tragically common of late, Lord Umber would briefly return as a reanimated Wight, before being sent to his final rest by Lord Beric Dondarrion.
Believed to be named for the late Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell, Lord Ned was born in the castle of Last Hearth. He grew up as the noble son of the northernmost House in the Seven Kingdoms. When civil war broke out between Northmen, House Umber sided with House Bolton, leading to his own death during the Battle of the Bastards. Following Smalljon’s demise, young Ned became Lord Umber and proved his honor by pledging his fealty to Jon Snow and House Stark. Sadly, he would not survive to reach manhood.
Lord Ned is preceded in death by his father Smalljon, and his grandfather Greatjon. Due to his age, young Ned leaves behind no wife nor heir, rendering House Umber seemingly extinct.
