Have you ever watched the Fast and Furious films and wanted to recreate the stunts? Well, we got the chance to do just that, learning how to donut with the best: the stunt team behind the new Fast and Furious Live show.

The show recreates stunt sequences from the film franchise in front of a live audience. It weaves some of the film’s best-loved scenes together with an original narrative, 3D mapping technology that brings shots from the films to life, and brand new stunts. The show hits arenas around the world from January 2018.

During a sneak preview of rehearsals for the show, we jumped in a practice car with stunt driver Sebastien Fouassier at what the creative team behind Fast & Furious Live calls ‘Fast Camp’ – a base located at a top-secret military facility in the British countryside. The movie stunt driver, who has featured in films including Rogue One and Columbiana, shared his tips on pulling off the perfect donut. And yes, folks, it was raining.

“Is it more dangerous in the rain?” we asked. You won’t be surprised to learn that the reply was a resounding “Yes”.

Don’t Try This At Home

Watch how we fared in the video above and see Seb’s step-by-step guide to pulling off a perfect donut. But remember, don’t try it at home! Seb is an experienced professional, and we drove on a closed course with all the proper safety procedures in place, and adhered to.

Fast & Furious 8 is available now on digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD formats. It’s also now available on demand from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UK).

Fast & Furious Live debuts on January 19 at London’s O2 Arena.
