ABC’s Once Upon A Time two-part season finale will air this Sunday, May 15. This season has kept me trapped in a glass case of emotion. So much has happened like Emma becoming the Dark One, Hook sacrificing himself to save Storybrooke, and Mr. Gold helping the Charmings journey to the Underworld in order to save their daughter’s true love.
We’ve met so many new characters that it’s hard to keep track of them all. In Camelot, we met King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin, and Merida, and in the Underworld, we met Hades, Hercules, Megara, and Zeus. That’s what’s so great about this show: there is no shortage of fairy tale characters that creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis can introduce into the series.
This show is like the ultimate crossover fanfiction as it brings together our favorite Disney characters and allows them to interact in real life (sort of) situations. While it may seem like that there is no rhyme or reason as to which characters are added and which aren’t, we’re confident that Horowitz and Kitsis know what they’re doing.
Of course, that didn’t stop us from creating a list of characters we’d like to see added to OUAT. Below are the ones that I’d like to see make an appearance next season. I’ve even created potential storylines for each. Check it out!
The Good Guys
Tiana
Tiana is the princess in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. In the movie, she is turned into an amphibian after she tried to break the curse on a frog prince. Tiana’s Storybrooke counterpart would be a college student working as a waitress at Granny’s Diner. She’d be able to communicate with coldblooded animals and would probably strike a deal with Mr. Gold in order to change her true love Naveen back into a human being.
Tarzan
Tarzan is the hero from Disney’s movie of the same name. He was raised by gorillas after his parents were murdered by the leopard Sabor. Tarzan’s Storybrooke counterpart would be a zoo keeper. He’d have a vendetta against Zelena because she once tried to change him into a flying monkey. While he managed to escape, his wife did not, so he’s trying to find her and asks for help from Ruby, who is an experienced tracker.
The Bad Guys
Dr. Facilier
Dr. Facilier is the villain from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. In the movie, he is a scheming witchdoctor who manipulates others in order to elevate his social status. Dr. Facilier’s Storybrooke counterpart would be a Casino owner. He’d rival Rumplestiltskin as he too makes deals with the less fortunate. His main goal would be to steal the Dark One’s power from Rumple in order to open up the gate to the “other side” and release his spirit “friends” into the real world.
Yzma
Yzma is the villain from Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove. She is probably my favorite Disney villain because of her kooky personality. Yzma’s Storybrooke counterpart would be a chemist. She’d be Regina’s advisor in the Enchanted Forest, but she would’ve been dismissed after having tried to stage a coup d’état. Her revenge would be to kill Regina and become the new Evil Queen.
We’ll have a better idea of what new characters to expect after the finale airs. So stay tuned!
