Teen Wolf Tyler Posey says his co-star Dylan O’Brien was the victim of a “stunt gone wrong” on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Cache Creek, British Columbia.
When asked by E! what type of stunt was involved in the March 17 incident, Posey said, “I respect the guy a lot and I love him. I don’t know how much information he wants me to leak out. It was a stunt gone wrong on his new movie.”
There have been a number of different and sometimes conflicting reports about O’Brien’s accident.
- TMZ reported that the 24-year-old was run over by a vehicle.
- Deadline said he fell from a train and struck his head.
- Teen Vogue reported he just bumped his head.
- WorkSafe BC, in an anonymous initial report, suggested he fell from motorcycle.
The latter, the WorkSafe report, is apparently based on what was reported to them by the film’s production office. According to the organization, “Incident summaries are based on Notice of Incident reports received by WorkSafeBC” and are subject to change as the facts of the case emerge. Investigators and the studio will be required to give a more detailed report.
For Posey, who lived with O’Brien for two years while filming Teen Wolf, the incident was emotional, “It was very scary for a little bit. I was really worried being here, him being in Vancouver. I was pretty wracked up for a little while.” Posey says he’s relieved his friend is recovering well, “He’s good. I love him. He’s okay.”
According to the Director’s Guild of Canada, production on the latest Maze Runner sequel will resume on May 9th. Filming is slated to start on May 15th.
In the meantime, Posey says O’Brien is back in the US, “He’s good. He’s back home.”
