It’s been a long, strange trip. Eight seasons, three dragons, hundreds and thousands of deaths until finally… it’s over. Game of Thrones isn’t just a TV series; it’s an epic and one that has left its imprint on the pop culture landscape for decades to come. But the end of a show means the start of another. Game of Thrones may be over but here are the shows where you can still get your Game of Thrones fix.
Missing the taming of magnificent beasts? Check out Evan Goes Wild. Hosted by Dr Evan Antin, the good doctor sallies forth to raise awareness of animals around the world. Not only are we privy to Dr Antin’s interactions with these creatures, viewers also get to learn about said animal and about wildlife conservation, which is great because the last time we didn’t care about conservation, dragons went extinct. Think about that for a moment.

Missing the allure of an exotic language? Check out My Fellow Citizens! Set in South Korea, a third-generation con artist marries a police detective and through a series of deceptive events, the con artist ends up as a member of the National Assembly. Can his subterfuge survive the season? Can his marriage survive the hi-jinks? More importantly… can the Korean language be sexier than Dothraki?
Catch My Fellow Citizens! on KBS World CH523
Missing the salt-tang of the Iron Islands? Check out SpongeBob SquarePants. While not quite the worship of the Drowned God, the show does have strange undersea creatures engaged in wacky antics. Instead of huge ships firing off Scorpions at dragons, we have SpongeBob trying not to get fired by Mr Krabs at the Krusty Krab.
Catch SpongeBob SquarePants on Nickelodeon CH240
Missing a strong female protagonist? Check out Supergirl (season four). Starring Melissa Benoist, she plays Supergirl, who was sent to Earth to escape her explosive home planet, Krypton. Now as the hero of National City, Supergirl has to juggle with her personal life and keeping her super heroics under wraps in her disguise as mild-mannered Kara Danvers. Who knows, if we keep our fingers crossed, Supergirl won’t do a heel turn and destroy the city that she’s tasked to protect. Maybe.
Catch Supergirl (season four) on Warner TV CH306
Missing the decadent spread at King Joffrey’s wedding? Check out Cake Boss. Do you like extravagant-looking pastries? Do you hunger for several-tier cakes that would rival the Tower of Joy? Buddy Valastro has that covered. His lavish cakes will be a feast for the eyes and, while there will be the occasional bouts of drama, the positive side of this is… no poisoning (though we advise eating any perishable food item within its stipulated best-by date).
Catch Cake Boss on TLC CH254
Missing twins with a strong bond? Check out Property Brothers. We follow fraternal twin brothers, Drew and Jonathan Scott, who buy and renovate houses into dream homes. Drew is a realty agent, while Jonathan is a contractor. Now in its eighth season, the twins continue to aid homebuyers but what we really want to know is: can they flip something as ratchet as the ruins of King’s Landing for a profit?
Catch Property Brothers on HGTV CH250
Missing the mystique of the Faith of the Seven? Check out Thor: Ragnarok. When it comes to deities, we’re old school. Like, way old school. We’re going Norse. In this third instalment of the Thor franchise, secrets will be unearthed (Hela is a long-lost daughter of Odin?); Thor goes on a personal journey (Sakaar!); mediation programmes (“We know each other! He’s a friend from work!”). With this much humanity in the movie, it’s true what they say: Norse gods are just like us.
Catch Thor: Ragnarok on FOX Movies CH414
