Arguably the biggest movie trailer to air during this past Sunday’s Big Game was The Flash, featuring Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck, and Michael freakin’ Keaton reprising his iconic Bat-role from 1989 and 1992’s Tim Burton Batman movies. After a tumultuous time getting to the screen, The Flash – which takes its cues from the classic “Flashpoint” DC Comics arc – looks to reset the the DCEU into the DCU, opening up that franchise’s multiverse and setting the stage for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s Gods & Monsters plans to take off in 2025.

And the trailer was a big hit with Fandom’s community too as there were big jumps in both the DC Comics and DCEU wikis, the latter seeing a 47% spike on Sunday. There’s been a lot of questions about the path of the DCEU (soon to be DCU) going forward, with Gunn and Safran taking the reins on a sometimes fractured saga, one that will have to shatter even more so it can move ahead with a new consistency. This new trailer seemed to land well with fans, presenting a big reality-altering adventure.

The Flash Enters the Speed Force

The Flash movie itself led the pageview pack as fans flocked to Fandom to read up on everything available regarding the new film, which (finally) hits theaters on June 16. Check out the Top 10 below for a look at everything on both the DC Comics Wiki and DCEU Wiki that charted high following the trailer debut…

The Flash’s movie page quadrupled in views. During this dive into all-things Flash, fans also unlocked Wally West (who landed just outside the 10) – aka Kid Flash – even though he’s not a known character in the movie currently. Kid Flash was a big part of the Flash Arrowverse series on The CW, but so far there’s been no peep about him in this DCEU Flash film but we’ll see what the future holds.

Batman Returns

The biggest reveal from The Flash trailer, of course, was the full look at Michael Keaton donning the cape and cowl and reprising the Batman role he made famous three decades ago. And the trailer gave us plenty of Keaton, as the star of Tim Burton’s two Bat flicks played heavily into the story. And when you also consider Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne appearing at the top of the trailer, you’ve got a lot of readers wanting to bone up on Bat stuff.

That Top 10 above is littered with Bat characters, most surprisingly including Earth 22’s Batman, the demented Batman Who Laughs, leader of the Dark Knights (who also appear on the list). Keaton’s Batman, from Earth 89, charts at number six, with his page doing nine times its normal business.

The keyword “Batman” grew 25%. And the most-viewed Batman page? A fan-conceived imaginary Batman 2023 movie. Whaaaat? Did you know we have Fanon wikis where fans make up their ideal movies from pre-existing franchises?

Also ranking, though not in the Top 10, were Damian Wayne, Jason Todd, and Batman Family. As you can see, readers are also prepping for The Brave and the Bold.

Supes Mode

Sasha Calle as Supergirl in The Flash

The Flash combines the titular character with the worlds of both Batman and Superman (even if the Man of Steel himself isn’t in the movie… we think), so it makes sense that Super things were also popping post-trailer. The final big character revealed in the new trailer was Supergirl, Kara Zor-El, played by Sasha Calle, helping Calle’s Kara page land at number four, despite being a new addition to the DCEU Wiki. On top of that, the Supergirl page from the DC Comics wiki nestled in at number three.

Superman: Legacy, the super movie newly announced by James Gunn, also made it into the Top 10, though it’s likely rarely left since being announced as the first film for Gunn’s Gods & Monsters DCU reset. That announcement slate and lingering excitement and curiosity about it is probably also the reason why the Authority is also still on the list.

Michael Shannon’s Zod from 2013’s Man of Steel, who returns as a major baddie in The Flash, in what looks to be an altered timeline version of the invading Kryptonian general, also had a good showing, just outside the Top 20.
