Comic book artist Tula Lotay has applied her talents to Batman, Tomb Raider, Captain America, and other super heroes, but at New York Comic Con 2019, she took on some of the NBA’s biggest super stars.
At the NBA and Fandom activation at NYCC, fans gathered to test their skills at a NBA Tip-Off Challenge where they were captured in an animated gif (and competed for the highest jump each day of the con) in anticipation of the October 22 season tip-off.
Meanwhile, Lotay similarly showed off her skills at the con.
Over the course of NYCC, Lotay worked for three hours each day to create four separate artworks featuring the likes of Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, Zion Williamson, and Kawhi Leonard. Fans joined in to witness the dynamic art come together — and to snap photos with both Lotay and the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy.
Fandom was there to capture Lotay’s art come together in an exciting time-lapse video. Watch it above, then catch the start of the NBA season October 22 on TNT, ESPN, and NBA TV.
