Original story below…
Today Activision will officially unveil its brand new game, Call of Duty: WWII during a dedicated live stream that starts at 6pm BST/10AM PT/1PM ET. You can watch the Call of Duty: WWII reveal right here via the YouTube and/or Twitch embeds, so there’s no need to move a muscle when it hits WWII time.
Well, you don’t have to watch both streams at once, but we thought we’d cover all the bases just for you. We’re nice like that.
Call of Duty: WWII, which will no doubt be out later this year, will take players back to the European battlefields of World War II for the first time since Call of Duty: World at War from 2008, nearly ten years ago.
From the early reactions on Twitter, it seems that fans are very pleased that Call of Duty is returning to its roots with some serious ‘boots on the ground’ gameplay.
So far, all Activision has confirmed is the name – and therefore the setting – of the next Call of Duty game. But that doesn’t mean that’s all we know. Some Call of Duty: WWII promotional material was leaked online revealing a release date and some other information about the game.
Apparently, when the game arrives on November 3, 2017, it’ll bring with it a single-player campaign along with a two-player co-operative “new and original story” that’s a “standalone game experience”. It’s being made by Sledgehammer Games, which is the same studio that brought you Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, starring the one and only Kevin Spacey.
No doubt the livestream will shed some light on the gameplay and hopefully the game’s multiplayer component too. After all, that is why everyone really plays Call of Duty, isn’t it?
Stay tuned for all the Call of Duty: WWII reveal coverage from the live stream on Fandom as it happens.
